Comprehensive Capital Analysis Review (CCAR) is a quarterly US Federal Reserve regulatory submission. It is used to ensure that institutions have robust, forward-looking capital planning processes that account for their unique risks and sufficient capital to continue operations throughout times of economic and financial stress. As part of CCAR, the Federal Reserve evaluates institutions' capital adequacy, internal capital adequacy assessment processes, and their plans to make capital distributions.
The Wholesale Credit workstream contributes to the overall management and execution of stress testing for Wholesale Credit supporting Citigroup’s CCAR submission and Citibank’s Dodd Frank Act Stress Testing (“DFAST”) submission. The Wholesale Credit Production Manager is primarily responsible execution of key credit risk management related projects associated with the annual CCAR/DFAST submissions including reviewing and challenging assumptions and outputs generated by the Wholesale Credit businesses across the firm . The Wholesale Credit Production Manager reports to the Wholesale Credit Project Oversight & Execution Manager.
This position requires high interface with CCAR Senior Product Specialists, Finance Risk Infrastructure, Operations & Technology, Regional and Business risk teams.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Functions as a key contributor on the execution of project plans for both the Annual (CCAR/DFAST) Submission and the Spring (Mid-Cycle Stress Test) Submission.
Production of Wholesale CCAR Workstream-related work including preparation of presentations and management updates on a weekly basis.
Executes project management responsibilities including tracking progress on deliverables, coordinating weekly stakeholder calls to ensure project timelines are met, maintaining project plans and progress reporting, completing ad hoc requests from the Central CCAR team and tracking weekly requirements.
Develops a system for maintaining department documentation supporting CCAR activities, reviewing sectional inputs from Workstream; contributing to review and edit process; overseeing work with external resources used, as needed.
Review problem areas for data submission and help identify any errors in data submission process, reviewing with Wholesale team to develop corrective action plans on process improvement going forward.
Makes recommendations regarding Workstream deliverables, balancing a need for action with a need for analysis.
Key contributor at governance meetings (deep dives, product committees).
Drives communication strategy to ensure key messages are cascaded throughout the organization.
Executes department strategy by developing approaches and/or processes to accomplish goals.
Knowledgeable about Citi’s architecture including data, processes, systems / infrastructure and technology in order to identify opportunities for CCAR process improvements.
Comprehensive understanding of industry best practice and regulatory expectations on model development. Fully understand SR11-7, and abreast with the latest CCAR guidelines and expectations.
Familiarity with CCAR clearly a plus, but if not, sufficient expertise in managing a similar stress testing regime or proven ability to quickly come up to speed in managing a complex financial reporting process of comparable complexity to CCAR/DFAST.
Exceptional writing skills, with ability to synthesize complex concepts, translate into "user-friendly" language, and creatively present in text or slide format.
Strong time management skills with the ability to successfully handle competing priorities.
Understanding of wholesale credit products including structures, industry mechanics, risks, and analytical tools is a plus.
2+ years of experience with wholesale credit in either a lending, credit risk management, or loss forecasting/modelling role.
Understanding of core risk and/or finance areas is a plus (e.g., pre-provision net revenue, credit risk, Basel II and Basel III, VaR, economic capital, stress testing, etc.)
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and communicate root causes and trends.
