Verizon Integration Engineer in Irving, Texas
The global product and engineering team will be responsible for the development and integration of global products and services. It will consist of four teams to support the organization. The Service Integration team will consist of internet and services engineers focused on the design, development, support and on-time delivery of global products and services customers and working with customer IT and product departments. The Lead Systems Consultant position will be a hands-on systems integrator working with customers and their suppliers to provide best in class readiness and deployment of global product offerings.
This position will have the responsibility for reviewing business cases, performing supporting research and analysis, and helping the Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) in writing specifications and integration requirements, validation of successful integration, and driving the product development schedule from design to release with the associated global product and business teams.
They will assist the team in integrating global products and services. They will have the responsibility of managing their deliverables with each customer team and suppliers, other team members, network engineer resources and global product development. They will have autonomy to solve integration and service fulfillment issues and will assist the senior team members with proactive customer communication. They will work with the broader team to solve integration issues but will work with the SMTS in remediation activities.
Partner with the SMTS to help the global product management teams evaluate requirements and determine the best technical solution for customers. Accountable for collection of system specifications and project schedules for the global product team
Execution of carrier integration methodology and process for global product technology.
Responsible for helping to execute the integration team process execution and delivery, scope and resource planning, and project management
Responsible for assisting in the successful deployment of global products and services in carrier business partners’ and customers’ existing infrastructure and application management
Responsible for systems integration functional testing, UAT, systems performance and resolution of production incidents, which may require 24/7 coverage.
Responsible for helping to maintain annual budgets; capital and expense. Assist in the collection and forecast of future budgets.
The candidate will have a strong technical background in software and hardware related to the following: Internet and cloud technology, opensource, NFV and SDN, orchestration, video, MMI/M2M, data analytics and over the top (OTT) solutions.
7 years of experience in a development environment that includes integration of hardware, firmware and software developing innovative solutions that take advantage of emerging technologies
3+ years of experience in carrier or cable provider ecosystems
1-3 years of performance testing, system & functional testing and can accurately manage defect identification, reporting and management.
Experienced in troubleshooting and debugging issues across multiple software and hardware ecosystems.
Familiarity of the following global product technologies a plus - IPTV, Messaging, Thingspace, VISP, VZCloud
Must have a good understanding of security standards and policies
The candidate will have a successful track record of delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality.
Successful candidates will have strong virtualization or cloud computing fundamentals, understand Information Security best practices, and have familiarity with managing datacenter and networking design teams.
The candidate will need to have the ability to influence others with clear and precise oral and written communication skills. Sound business judgment, analytical thinking and negotiation skills will be needed in this role to be successful.
