The OnCue organization in Verizon is looking for Lead Video Engineer to be a founding member of the Operations Center (OC) in Irving, Texas. You will provide video escalation support to the OC team that monitors, analyzes, troubleshoots and implements corrective actions of end to end OnCue video delivery systems. You will provide periodic training to the OC staff and to your peers within the team. As a member of the Data Center and Field Engineering team, you will also travel occasionally to remote Verizon data centers, to conduct build-out, installation, and troubleshooting activities.Job Title: Lead Video EngineerJob ID: 418316Location: Irving, Texas 75038 (972)Local Candidates PreferredResponsibilities

  • Travel (varies, avg. 15%) to data centers, lead team to install PODs

  • Provide video tools and troubleshooting training to OC engineers

  • Provide product and materials forecast for planned projects

  • Test and specify cabling requirements

  • Order and maintain cabling inventory

  • Create and maintain cabling and label matrices

  • Test and specify requirements for video and cabling test tools

  • Manage video monitoring tools

  • 3rd level support of all video escalations

  • Cross-team collaboration with other development and deployment teams

  • Keep up to date with latest in data center designs and industry standards

  • Build video distribution solutions

  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation


  • Experience in server and network cabinet layout, equipment cabling and installation, and data center design

  • Project and team lead experience

  • Applications: Experienced in use of Visio, Project, and PowerPoint

  • Video: 5 years’ experience in video headends, video transport, performance, and troubleshooting audio and video performance issues

  • Minimum 3 years providing on-call support to production video systems

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Proficiency with Tektronix, JDSU, Sencore video monitoring and analysis tools

  • Ability to understand basic TCP/IP protocol, and subnetting

  • A strong team player with initiative, self-motivation, and flexibility in dealing with ambiguous situations

  • Able to operate in multitasking environments, with interrupts and priority changes
