Verizon QA Automation Engineer in Irving, Texas
Identify E2E scenarios that comprehensively test features like parental controls, Video On Demand, Program Guide etc. on Verizon FIOS IPTV devices.
Design & develop scalable and robust test scripts and/or frameworks to automate the E2E work flows.
Develop well-commented, easy to maintain code that can be reused across a sub-system or feature.
Develop and distribute professional test results and status reports.
Troubleshoot issues, investigate client/application logs, identify potential root causes and provide detailed bug reports.
Take complete ownership for delivering test coverage and automation for assigned features; ensure cross-functional co-ordination across Product, Development and QA as needed to maintain/update test suite, report test failures etc.
Run manual tests for scenarios that cannot be automated.
Bachelor’s or higher degree in computer science/engineering, or, a related technical field or equivalent experience.
5+ years of QA Engineering experience with solid understanding of SQE methodologies and techniques.
Deep knowledge of scripting in Python (or equivalent scripting languages such as Perl) along with the ability to design/develop automation frameworks.
Deep understanding of cloud based RESTful web services.
Deep understanding & recent hands-on experience in Linux/Unix environment.
Good understanding of web technologies - HTML, CSS, HTTP/HTTPS protocol, CURL.
Experience in analyzing crash logs, stack trace, faults by utilizing basic debugging techniques.
Excellent Team player with strong collaboration skills.
Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills.
Exceptional written, oral & presentation skills.
Experience with GIT, Agile methodologies, JIRA, Continuous integration systems such as Jenkins.
Prior experience/knowledge on testing IPTV applications and/or media Set Top Boxes.
