Become a member of theOnCueinfrastructure engineering group;responsible for building a wide variety of highly automated systems that enable our high-availability service platform. You will be working on the infrastructure that is required to deploy a high number of service components many times a day. We have a very large existing deployment of servers - both physical and cloud based - which run hundreds of service components, producinghundredsof millions of telemetry datapoints a week. We are looking to provide a high degree of automated insight into our systems, and create a complete end-to-end picture of how services are built, deployed and operated at huge scale.
We are looking for talented engineers who have a broad range of experience. The ideal candidate would be intimately familiar with the operational aspects of large scale systems, understand the value of automating everything and have written systems in a variety of programming languages. You should enjoy being part of a bigger team and communicate well.
Build deployment automation for a fleet of systems running custom software.
Automate software configuration and upgrade systems for production-level support.
Build tools and scripts as necessary in support of the production infrastructure.
Cross-team work with other development and deployment teams.
Ensure monitoring is in place and configured properly by working with monitoring team.
Keep deployment methodology up to industry standards.
Work on-call rotation for 24/7 production infrastructure.
Work with Operations Center to provide excellent uptime.
Programming/scripting: demonstrable experience with bash, Python or other scripting languages
Networking: strong understanding of TCP/IP and UDP, subnetting, firewalls, VPNs.
Strong Linux systems administration skill with an emphasis on RHEL-based distributions.
Configuration Management experience with tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Salt Stack or Chef
Experience with OS deployment via KickStart
Monitoring Experience with tools such as Sensu, Nagios, Splunk or Elastic Search / Logstash / Kibnana (ELK)
Experience with one or more of the following: HAProxy, Nginx, Varnish, or similar technologies
Experience with distributed file systems (Ceph, GlusterFS, etc.)
Experience with distributed database systems
Experience with Mesos, CoreFS
Experience with CGroups, Docker
