This is a GG-04 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-04 duties for the "Technical/Administrative Support" work category are at the "Entry/Developmental" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-04 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

This is an AF DCIPS INTERN program position. Successful applicants will be placed on a TERM appointment NTE 13 months, which may be extended up to 5 years. Upon completing your degree and meeting all conversion eligibility requirements, you may be placed in a permanent position without further competition. Permanent employment is not guaranteed and is subject to position availability.
The AF DCIPS INTERN program is open to students currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a qualifying educational program. Students must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average to be considered for employment. Interns must also maintain good academic standing, no less than a 2.5 grade point average. Transcripts must be attached to your application.
Interns will be expected to sign a training plan and intern program agreement at time of employment. Interns may work part-time or full-time hours during the school term.
Once employed under this program, the student may be eligible for tuition assistance.
Serve in the capacity of student trainee, performing assignments designed to further develop applicable analytical and evaluative skills and techniques in the field of Information Technology.
Performs Information Technology assignments of moderate difficulty where work procedures are established and a number of specific guidelines exist. Work assignments consisting of a series of specific and related tasks have been selected to orient the employee in the practical application of basic cyber operations occupational principles, concepts, and techniques.
Working in close association with information technology specialists performs selected tasks and assists in phases of routine study that requires basic applications of information technology theory and principles.
Participates in special initiatives, studies, and projects.
Prepares written correspondence and other documentation.
*ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: *This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS. This position is in the Excepted Service.

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT*:*
This position is covered by the DCIPS, and as such will subject the incumbent to those examinations and or tests that are necessary to obtain and retain a security clearance and any special accesses required by the position in accordance with AFI 36-1101. This position is a testing designated position and as such requires periodic urinalysis testing. Failure to comply with any of the special requirements, when required, will subject the incumbent of this position to reassignment or disciplinary adverse actions, including demotion or removal.
Position is designated critical-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
Drug Testing:This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
