EHS Representative

Kilgore, Texas


  • Ownership of the Emergency Resources Checklist (attached for reference). This checklist is extremely time consuming (10-12 hrs/week). OSHA requires some emergency equipment to be inspected on a monthly/weekly basis. Currently the equipment to be checked includes:

  • 168 Fire Extinguishers

  • 85 Emergency Lights

  • 25 First Aid Stations

  • 54 Eye Wash Stations (5 stations require weekly checks due to being hard line plumbed)

  • 8 AED Stations

  • Assisting in new hire orientations

  • Assisting in observing all MET pedestal movements at Longview Street, Depot, and KIF

  • Assisting in observing all contracted crane activity at the Depot and Energy Drive.

  • Emplacing new and repairs to existing items listed on emergency resource checklist

  • Assisting in spill containment

  • Assisting with crane inspections with outside contractors

  • Assisting in inventorying and cleanliness of waste storage

  • Emplaces all EHS signage

  • Assisting in City of Kilgore waste water neutralization

  • Preparation of EHS related Draft Sight drawings

  • PPE delivery (outside of Grainger Vending Machine)

  • Assist in routine sling/rigging inspections

  • Assisting in enforcing company polices by providing a floor presence at all GD facilities located in Kilgore, Texas

  • Assist with Ergonomic Assessments

  • Data gathering for Energy Savings Opportunities within manufacturing operations

  • Work on Hazard Communication Global Harmonization Standard –secondary labeling capability, inventory updates with part number indexing, SDS filing, database updates

  • Emergency Preparedness- identification of evacuation coordinators, revise emergency response floor plans & EAP’s

Because this is a Government Contract, you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Related college course work, or vocational training preferred.
