Our Client, a petro-chemical company, is seeking a Project Scheduler possessing experience with project controls (planning, scheduling) in a capital project environment, Primavera P6 and a minimum of 5 years' experience in chemical or petrochemical industry required.
Individual will be responsible for working with engineering contractor and project engineering team to understand project schedule plan, to identify work breakdown by WBS element, to identify the impacts of changes to the project schedule, to work with contractor to identify critical path and alternatives for improvement, to track the project as it progresses and to ensure project reports match project progress. Individual will support cost control and KPI management activities on a project control team.
Hours of Position: 7:00am - 4:30pm.
Job is working on a large capital project.
Candidate must be flexible as work load may ebb and flow and hours may change to match project needs.
Develop and implement project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for integrated resource-loaded schedule in Primavera.
Assist in developing project controls procedure for the overall project including schedule updating procedure, critical path and float identification, schedule integration, variance reporting, etc.
Develop the master (resource loaded, integrated) schedule for the project by combining schedules for FEED contractor, PDP contractor, incorporating owners scope and assuring a comprehensive schedule that includes all project phases.
Define a project baseline for all project activities that results in an agreed to baseline schedule.
Support project reporting by supplying high level milestone schedules.
Hold periodic schedule update meetings with project managers and FEED and construction contractors to review critical path and any schedule variances from planned/baseline and provide suggestions for correcting variances that reduce float or affect critical path items.
Continuously monitor schedule and progress and alert Project Controls leader of any variances to plan that may affect meeting of deadlines or milestones.
Prepare backup of schedule variances to facilitate meetings to discuss resolution.
Support review and accuracy of project schedule reports provided by engineering contractor and construction contractor.
Experience in project controls (planning, scheduling) in a capital project environment.
Experience using Primavera P6 is required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical or petrochemical industry required.
- Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree.
