Phoenix House Certified Nurse Assistant in Lancaster, Texas


The Nurse Assistant is responsible for providing clerical and minor medical support to the medical department. Collects and distributes prescribed and over the counter medications for clients. The CAN ensure that refills for client medications are ordered, picked up and delivered as appropriate. Coordinates order and stocking of basic medical supplies for the medical department


•Assists with minor medical care provided on-site including but not limited to taking basic patient information, scheduling lab work, and assisting the Nurse with triage to determine level of care needed

•Schedule medical appointments for clients on-site or off-site as needed

•Assist with admission and orientation of new clients to the facility including medical evaluation, medical services orientation, preparing orientation materials or setting up client medical charts

•Coordinates and performs clerical duties for the medical and admissions department.



•High School Diploma or equivalent

•Certified Nurse Assistant credential, Medical Assistant, or similar health care provider credential


•Four years experience providing medical support to adult patients/clients in a healthcare or social services setting.


•Ability to demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills with patients, team members, and external constituents

•Ability to demonstrate good customer service skills to both internal and external customers

•Proficiency in MS Office products
