Job Title: HVAC Technician
Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for a HVAC Technician in the Laredo, Texas area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs preventive maintenance, diagnostic testing, overhauling, installation and repairs on a large variety of types of extremely sophisticated refrigeration, dehumidification, air-conditioning, ventilation and heating systems equipment.
The incumbent will be required to respond to emergency calls after working hours, weekends and holidays to facilitate emergency repairs to equipment that is critical to national security.
Incumbent may be directed to perform other duties as needed and directed by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Project Manager.
The work performed will be truck based work. The HVAC Technician will be required to accept and close out work orders using a handheld device, and be able to work independently to meet the goals of his/her supervisor.
- At least 3-6 years HVAC experience in mobile operations, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and AC equipment.
Must have skill and technical ability to interpret to complete installations and repairs as required to minimize down-time.
Must have working knowledge of other trades such as: Sheet metal, fire dampers, zone control, airflow volume, plumbing systems, steam supply, electrical circuits, solenoids, transformers, timers, etc.
Must have a working knowledge of building automation controls.
Must be proficient in all types of soldering and brazing techniques.
Must be well versed in various test equipment.
Must have a current CFC or EPA refrigeration mechanic’s license.
A Journeyman’s HVAC license is desirable but not required.
Must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing and clean driving history.
Must have good verbal communication skills, customer service skills and be able to read, write and understand the English language.
