Library Systems Library Associate in Leander, Texas

Leander Public Library has an opening for a friendly, outgoing person to fill a part time, 20 hours per week, Library Associate position, evenings and weekends.

Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent; college preferred

  • Assist patrons in all aspects of circulation including registering new patrons, modifying patron records, checking out, and renewing materials

  • Accept fines, fees, and payments and dispense information regarding library programs and policies

  • Check in, shelve, and locate library materials

  • Provide basic reference services and computer and technology assistance

  • Interact effectively with a diverse population and assist team members with additional tasks as needed

  • Previous library experience a plus

  • Must be outgoing, customer service oriented, and a quick learner

  • Possess sound organizational skills including effective verbal and written communication and attention to detail.

  • Possess proficiency with technology including computers, desktop applications, and office machines.

  • Work well individually and in the team environment

  • Interact well with a diverse population

  • Be available to work a flexible schedule during evenings and weekends

  • Position may require long periods of standing and the ability to lift 40 lbs.
