JPMorgan Chase Mortgage Banking - Bankruptcy Manager I - Dallas, TX in Lewisville, Texas
As a Bankruptcy Mortgage Manager I, you will be responsible for protecting Chase Mortgage Banking interest in properties that have been included in a Chapter 7,11 or 13 bankruptcy filing. You must be fully knowledgeable in Bankruptcy Code, the Bankruptcy Court System, litigation and adversary proceeding strategies, general default mortgage servicing, the foreclosure process, and Chase Mortgage Banking policies and procedures.
Also as Bankruptcy Manager I, you must develop strategies to deliver a highly productive department, to motivate employees to deliver quality performance, to develop and maintain vendor relations, to keep settlement costs and losses to a minimum and to portray JPMorgan Chase as a quality mortgage servicer to Bankruptcy Judges and Trustees.
In this role you will perform the following functions: provide coaching and feedback to staff on a regular basis, perform performance management reviews and develop bankruptcy workflow coordinator for the next level; ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws, as well as investor and/or insurer requirements in relation to a bankruptcy filing; respond to complex customer written and verbal inquiries in a timely manner; handle special projects as requested by the manager in a timely and accurate manner; develop relationships with investors and insurers to ensure Chase Mortgage Banking compliance with servicing requirements; develop and maintain relationships with bankruptcy attorneys, Chapter 13 and 7 bankruptcy trustees, debtor's attorneys, JPMorgan Chase in-house legal counsel, JPMorgan Chase customers, other external vendors, and internal JPMorgan Chase departments; apply automation and technology where necessary to reduce keystrokes, reduce repetitive tasks, eliminate exceptions, and increase productivity; interact with peers in other default areas to improve foreclosure timeframes, to provide loss mitigation opportunities, to improve the flow of documents and to maintain overall communication; maintain constant communication with Chase Mortgage Banking bankruptcy attorneys to ensure they are pursuing the bankruptcy filing in accordance with JPMorgan Chase philosophy; advise attorneys of the options available to reduce our "out of pocket" expenses to settle complex matters, which prevent adversary actions against Chase Mortgage Banking; support and exhibit the JPMorgan Chase Values, brand promise, and Retail and Middle Markets Financial Services Vision in everyday work performance at Chase Mortgage Banking; maintain an "audit ready" environment by strengthening key controls and ensuring all necessary reporting has been developed; analyze reports on a weekly and monthly basis to spot trends and ensure actions are performed on active bankruptcy cases; perform a monthly audit on the quality of work performed by the bankruptcy workflow coordinator and outsourcing vendors; update the bankruptcy manager regularly on performance of the team; and travel where necessary to represent JPMorgan Chase in bankruptcy hearings, adversary, proceedings, and bankruptcy conferences.
- Minimum of 5 years' direct mortgage servicing experience or 5 years in a related field
- Bachelors Degree in a field related to industry or equivalent experience preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to use logic and reasoning skills
- Thorough understanding of the Bankruptcy Code and the Bankruptcy Court System
- Must have prior supervisory experience
