The Support Representative is responsible for supporting Patient Financial Services in daily operations, reporting, Explanation of Benefits review, and special projects. This position must be knowledgeable of the hospital’s Managed Care and other discount agreements. This position will also perform any and all job related duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions

  • EOB Review

  • Process incoming & outgoing correspondence

  • Special projects

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Document and distribute all business related requests and correspondence from patients and insurance companies.

  • Complete all incoming and outgoing faxes for Patient Financial Services.

  • Process all outgoing correspondence daily.

  • Retrieve and complete all designated requests.

  • Complete all assigned projects in a timely manner.

  • Communicate to Navigant Cymetrix management areas of concern or areas of improvement.

  • Complete all internal requests.

  • Complete all copying and printing requests for Patient Financial Services.

  • Update patient demographic and insurance information.

  • Review EOB’s for proper payment, forward discrepancies to Biller for rebilling and / or Denial Management for appeal.

  • Perform special projects to identify, and reconcile, payer specific issues.

Qualifications (include Education/Certification)

  • High School Diploma.

  • PC skills in a Windows environment are required. Knowledge and utilization of desktop applications to include Word and Excel is helpful.

  • Ability to initiate and follow through on projects and work independently.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment to coordinate work.

  • Usually remains stationary for the majority of the day.

  • Frequently communicates with clients and coworkers and must be able to share information effectively.

  • Occasional stooping, reaching or kneeling may be necessary to reach into overhead or low cabinets.

  • Regularly uses close visual acuity and operates computer equipment to prepare and analyze and transmit data.

  • Generally works in an office environment.
