Case Worker - Degreed Social Worker D.O.R.S. Youth Transition Center - Longview, TX 75604 $37,000 a year Date: September 2017 Position: Case Worker (VOCA), Youth Transition Center Reports to: Executive Director Status: Exempt Full-time (40 hours per week, though may exceed 40 hours at times) including some nights and weekends. Education: Bachelor s Degree REQUIRED, Licensed Social Worker; Experience with crime victims/ criminal justice system preferred. Summary: Case Coordinator will facilitate and successfully manage Victims of Crime Act grant. This primarily consists of assisting young people that are victims of crime. The assistance will focus on providing advocacy, support, counseling, transportation, etc. Experience/Responsibilities: Experience in youth advocacy for at-risk young people helpful; serving young people with compassion and a non-judgmental approach a must. Must be able to develop and maintain rapport with young people. Will collaborate with agencies & organizations, make referrals and provide follow-up. Fully responsible for accurately managing grant budget. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational ability and problem solving skills a must. Computer proficiency required. Ability to maintain confidentiality with clients and staff. Ability to establish and maintain effective, professional working relationships with colleagues, staff, clients and the public. Ability to work under minimum supervision, take initiative, use good judgement, relentless & intentional approach to meeting objectives. Abides by D.O.R.S. policies and procedures. Must adhere to Standards for Excellence. May provide crisis intervention to clients. Responsible for budget and expenditures and ensures all deadlines for submission of documentation and reports is met. Maintains valid Texas driver s license with a clear driving record. Must pass background check. May present at conferences and other professional meetings. Participates in career development as requested/required. Ensures all files and documents meet contract requirements and guidelines. Reviews all program records to ensure proper documentation is maintained. Develops and maintains positive, professional relationships with contractor representative and communicates regularly to ensure mutual understanding and satisfaction. Develops and maintains positive relationships with collaborating agencies/ businesses/individuals, community, clients, staff and volunteers and communicates regularly to ensure objectives, needs and expectations are met. Ensures delivery of service plan and provides successful completion of follow-up with client. Coordinates & maintains the Donation Station. Waters outdoor plants twice weekly.
