Texas Tech University Administrator in Lubbock, Texas

Position Description

Performs managerial work providing direction and guidance in setting and achieving goals and objectives; developing policies; reviewing guidelines, procedures, rules, and regulations; establishing priorities, standards, and measurement tools for determining progress in meeting goals; coordinating and evaluating program activities; and establishing and monitoring budgets. May plan, assign, and supervise the work of others. Works under limited supervision with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Major/Essential Functions

Serve as a member/chair of university, division, and departmental committees and councils.

Coordinate, develop, and assess programs such as Family Weekend, Sibling Weekend, Spring Awards Breakfast, and other departmental events.

Coordinate Parent and Family Relations printed publications and Parent & Family eNewsletter.

Coordinate and develop marketing and public relations strategies for the department. Assist in the maintenance of Parent and Family Relations web site and social media sites.

Assist with recruitment and retention efforts (RRO, Undergraduate Admissions events, etc.).

Develop and maintain budget for assigned program areas.

Facilitate the establishment and development of working partnerships among members of the campus, Lubbock, alumni, and Texas Tech Parents Aassociation communities.

Assist the Associate Director with the overall effective administration and management of programs and services offered by Parent and Family Relations.

Develop annual goals and assist with annual report for campus programs and services administered, coordinated, and supervised through Parent and Family Relations.

Generalist duties within Parent and Family Relations.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in area of expertise or closely related area required. Three years of experience in planning, developing, or implementing programs/projects or research grants. Additional education may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters Degree in Higher Education or related field. Bilingual (Spanish).

Pay Statement
