Position Description Performs responsible and complex duties associated with a specialized function of a section of clerical employees. Duties may be generally described as: planning, assigning, coordinating, directing, scheduling, evaluating, verifying, training, and processing of information. A thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and methods for the area of responsibility is required. Initiative and independent judgments are frequently exercised in formulating procedures or methods, and in program coordination. Work is performed under general supervision within University policies and procedures. Job performance is based upon overall operation effectiveness.

Major/Essential Functions

  • Maintaining and updating the Digital Measurements Data Base for Dr. Hase.

  • Working with the Chemistry Business Manager to oversee/manage Research Group Funds and Budgets.

  • Processing departmental eCerts in a timely manner, making sure they align with the grant, federal and/or state funding reports.

  • Typing manuscripts, correspondence, grant proposals, presentations, quizzes and tests for classes.

  • Process yearly reports; such as the Annual Faculty Report, Welch Foundation Report and CH Foundation Report.

  • Handling purchases for the Research Group, whether through the Purchasing Card (P-Card) or Tech Buy insuring they are in alignment with TTU SOP's.

  • Maintaining files on a fiscal year bases, document expenses and insuring that each expense is coded to the right Fund, Organization and Program (FOP) codes.

  • Making travel/lodging reservations following TTU Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the Welch Chair Person, guests, staff, participants and speakers.

Required Qualifications A minimum of a high school diploma or the equivalent. Three years progressively responsible clerical experience. Additional education and/or related experience to equal three years may substitute on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications Ability to use Word, Acrobat, and Excel. Knowledge of Fund Accounting, Grant Accounting, TTU Travel System and/or Banner considered a plus.
