**This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons** The Sr. Life Cycle Engineer is responsible for influencing the affordability of Space and Airborne Systems' products by independently developing cost information as part of an organization that collaborates with engineering teams and the front end of the business (FEOTB). You will work independently to develop affordability solutions and work with engineering teams to meet affordability requirements through day to day support. The Sr. Life Cycle Engineer will utilize both government and company-developed cost modeling tools to develop cost estimates, cost requirements, trade-off studies, and cost and system performance assessments in efforts ranging from concept exploration through product sustainment. Accurate, concise communication while demonstrating ability to work with a wide range of people and engineering disciplines is essential. The team will rely on you to provide technical solutions that are imaginative, thorough, and practical for Performance Based Logistics (PBL), Contractor Logistics Support (CLS), maintenance, repair, and warranty related contracts/programs.. Analytical techniques will include but need not be limited to Design to Cost (DTC), Total Ownership Cost (TOC), and Life Cycle Cost (LCC). Responsibilities include predicting/forecasting program cost through the full program life cycle while identifying cost impact of the changes to program parameters such as design, reliability, testability, maintainability, supportability, and sustainment. The candidate will be expected to: Implement, perform, and evaluate the Design to Cost Process on multiple programs Evaluate the performance, cost, schedule and risk trade space to provide the customer the "best value" solution while meeting war-fighter needs. Perform a top-down, bottom-up, continuous, and comprehensive process that facilitates decisions to influence TOC in concert with the operational needs. Assist Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) lead and program management in making informed decisions when bidding proposals and negotiating contracts. Develop, modify, or enhance existing Cost Estimating Relationships. Conduct statistical analyses such as risk, probability, sensitivity, payback, Six Sigma. Develop and/or implement LCC/CLS/PBL/warranty cost methodologies, processes, and tools. Write proposal sections regarding cost methodologies, processes, tools, trades, etc. Predict cost using tools such as CASA, PRICE TruePlanning, ACE-IT, SEER, RAYCALM,. Provide direction, vision, and training/mentoring to others (both subordinates & other functions) to enable the growth of Raytheon's expertise in supportability cost modeling and analysis. Required Skills: Minimum of 8 years of related Engineering experience Active DoD Secret Security clearance Experienced working and communicating across all organizational levels Experience applying Math and Statistics to develop engineering solutions Experience in an engineering discipline with an emphasis on Systems Engineering or Modeling and Simulation requiring cross-functional interaction during several stages of a program/product life cycle Computer literacy and experience with MS Office (Power Point, Word, Access) Advanced knowledge/experience with MS Excel Experience developing credible cost estimates (models) involving: Life Cycle Cost (LCC) and Cost as an Independent Variable (CAIV), Design To Cost (DTC) as well as the ability to analyze cost versus performance requirements and recommend solutions Desired Skills: Ability to write Macros in MS Excel Good technical writing, oral communication, and inter-personal skills to achieve technical objectives Ability to work independently and to deliver accurate documentation under deadline pressures Good attention to detail Experience in at least one of the following cost estimating model suites/tools: TFDG, SEER, or PRICE.SYSYEMS LLC model suites Ability to function well in a high pressure multi-tasking environment Ability / Experience in building / Utilizing Databases, or written code in: ----- Oracle, C, C++, HTML, MATLAB, Visual Basic (VBA), MS ACCESS, Knowledge of Finance /Business / Auditing / Engineering Experience in manufacturing environment Experience utilizing Design to Cost (DTC) process Past experience leading teams or projects requiring preparing and giving complex technical briefings involving LCC , DTC, and CAIV, as well as cost modeling and simulation to support proposal concept development Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Math, Science, Engineering or related technical field Desired Education: MS degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Logistics, or related field. 87857
