SRS Distribution Inc. System Administrator I in McKinney, Texas
Directly responsible and accountable to the Infrastructure Services Manager. The System Administrator’s primary function is to develop and maintain the SRS data network to include operation and maintenance of hardware, software, and computing infrastructure. The primary focus of this position is to perform various technical computer maintenance tasks relating to the configuration, installation, troubleshooting, repair, and general maintenance of SRS computer systems, peripheral devices, and associated networks. The System Administrator also provides systems advice and support to Infrastructure Services Manager and performs special projects as assigned.

- Enforces network security.
Maintains system user and group profiles, login scripts, and menus to limit system access to properly authorized users and to allow authorized users access only to the information they need.
Systems are regularly monitored for security breaches, included internal or external break-in.
Microsoft Active Directory administration
Design and maintenance of Active Directory Structure
Group Policy Administration
Oversees account administration
Microsoft Exchange/Messaging administration
Maintenance and troubleshooting of Email
Administration of Mail related virus protection
File/Application server administration
Building, installation, maintenance of file/application servers
Patch Management administration
Virus protection administration
SAN storage administration
Administration of Storage area networks
Monitor and anticipate storage requirements
Administration and monitoring of synchronized data between the SANs.
Adheres to system backup procedures.
Follows written policies and procedures that address network backups.
A log is kept of all scheduled and extra backups, which includes successful and failed backups.
Regularly reviews logs and reports deficiencies to the Infrastructure Services Manager.
Important and most recent backup media are stored off-site.
Secondary (mirror or shadow) systems are maintained in good working order.
Controlled test restores are done regularly.
No data is lost.
Maintains internal and external communication to the network.
Any server/backup/storage related internal devices (hubs, routers, switches, etc.) are maintained in good working order.
Internal network traffic is monitored and recommendations are made when needed to address any degradation of system performance caused by traffic bottlenecks.
Server/Storage/Backup related hardware and software is maintained and updated.
Critical system components (File Servers, disk drives, etc.) are monitored for signs of impending failure.
Recommendations are made concerning the proper level of spare hardware needed to facilitate prompt repair of hardware problems.
Interact with vendors in identifying and resolving network problems.
Necessary or desirable hardware and software upgrades are identified and recommended to the Infrastructure Services Manager early enough to allow for planning and budgeting.
Provides system advice to Infrastructure Services Manager.
Participates in planning, purchasing, and system integration decisions with the Infrastructure Services Manager and other systems decision-makers within the System.
Takes ownership and manages major projects to their successful conclusion.
Major projects are not committed to without the knowledge and consent of the Infrastructure Services Manager.
Projects are planned with concrete, realistic mileposts and schedules.
Projects are completed on time and within budget.
Good organizational skills.
Self-motivated with initiative.
Knowledge of the System Engineering life cycle process and project management processes.
Systems architecture knowledge/experience including hardware, software requirements allocation and licensing, is required.
Knowledge/experience in project planning and estimating.
Basic knowledge of networking technologies and protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, routers.
Knowledge/experience with storage systems infrastructure.
Knowledge/experience with VMWare and supporting technology.
Knowledge/experience with Microsoft administration tools including but not limited to SCCM, Azure and supporting technologies.
Knowledge/experience with systems and network performance tuning, capacity planning, backup and recovery, system architecture and design as well as high availability concepts.
Solid communication skills; effectively communicate in both oral and written form.
Able to build strong work relationship with customer and teammates

Capable of working in a fast-paced team environment; able to meet strict deadlines.
Possess drive to explore and implement new technologies and improve general technical knowledge is required.
Experienced with performing systems integration and testing.
