*Work Schedule: FT Nights (7p-7a) Rotating Weekends*
_Position Summary_: In accordance with nursing standards, JCAHO, Medicare, and all other applicable federal, state, and local guidelines and regulations, the ICU Supervisor has the responsibility to supervise all unit activities by assuming responsibility for the nursing care given on a designated patient care unit. In addition, the Supervisor evaluates the effectiveness of the staff and unit performance and coordinates the unit activities with other departments. The North Hills Hospital staff member can expect to care for adult patients, including the older adult through geriatric, and pediatric patients from newborn through adolescence. The attached criteria based performance evaluation provides a specific set of standards as they relate to age specific competency.
A. Graduate of a school of professional nursing. B. Baccalaureate degree preferred.
Experience: A. Minimum of 3 years recent ICU experience. B. Prior experience as Charge Nurse.
Specific Requirements: A. A current license as a professional nurse in the State of Texas. B. Certified in CPR. C. Completion of Adult Cardiac Life Saving card. D. Expert in the area of medical surgical and cardiac patients, including stabilization E. Possess the ability to make independent decisions and prioritize responsibilities when circumstances warrant such action. F. Demonstrates knowledge of the developmental needs of the cardiac and medical surgical patient. H. Demonstrate leadership ability to include ability to be a change agent.. I. Possess the ability to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians, and other employees.
