Position Description:

This position will be responsible for day-to-day coordination of Business Continuity and Technology Recovery components in support of the overall Business Continuity Management (BCM) Program.

The Business Continuity Technology Recovery (BCTR) Analysts will report to the Business Continuity Manager and will be responsible for developing, maintaining, maturing, and administering Client Business Continuity and Technology Recovery Program components.

The BCTR analysts will coordinate with the Business Continuity Manager to ensure BCM program components are continuing to mature in their capabilities to prepare Client to respond should there be a significant event impacting Client ability to continue core critical processes.

The BCTR Analyst is responsible for developing, maintaining, administering, testing and documenting business continuity and technology (disaster) recovery tests and coordinating the implementation of various BCTR plans throughout the enterprise.

This position should expect to liaise with all departments within organization. This position has technical components that will require a candidate to have some technical competency and understanding of how various aspects of information technology work (i.e. servers, network, storage, replication, backup, etc…)

Major Duties and Responsibilities: Functional Responsibilities (70%):

  • Business Continuity and Technology Recovery Plan Maintenance and Reporting.

  • Monitoring and coordination of new plan development.

  • Monitoring and coordination of regular plan updates.

  • Coordination of exercise and testing of plans including reporting on plan status and lessons learned.

  • Assessment of plan components, appropriateness, availability, storage and maturing plan.

  • Program development and expansion, maturing the program.

  • Develop and provide input to the department on strategy for Technology (Disaster) Recovery.

  • Identify process/operational gaps and propose solutions.

  • Maintain awareness of emerging trends in business continuity and technology (disaster) recovery.

  • Develop and maintain policies, standards and procedures.

  • Oversight and coordination of bi-annual Business Impact and Technical Impact Analysis and any follow up activities.

  • Participate in Crisis Management/Security Incident Response Team (SIRT) exercises.

Liaison (5%):

  • Respond to Internal/External audit requests and collaborate/participate in meeting regulatory and compliance requirements.

  • Liaise with other all areas of the organization on their Business Continuity and Technology Recovery plans.

General (25%)

  • Managing the vendor relationships.

  • Document process flows and diagrams.

  • Translate between business units and technology teams for Business Continuity and Technology Recovery needs.

  • Provide input on awareness on topics that apply to Business Continuity and Technology Recovery as they apply to the BCDM program.

  • Participate in projects and/or committees/groups representing BCM interests.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications :

Client is looking for individuals with strong a business sense and practical expertise. Successful candidates should have:

  • Technical Requirements:

  • Must have 3 to 5 years’ experience working in the Business Continuity/Technology (Disaster) Recovery field.

  • Experience with Business Continuity/Technology (Disaster) Recovery plan management, software systems and industry tools/templates - preferred.

Experience/educational requirements:

  • CBCP - preferred.

  • Conducted various BC/DR exercises/plan evaluations - Must

  • Knowledge of BCTR and IT Security frameworks and regulations ISO 27000, 27031, 23001, PCI, GLBA etc.) - Must

  • BS or BA degree in related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Project management experience - Must

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be able to manage information and apply it to specific audiences (critical for position).
