Job Description SummaryWork with business analysts, developers, business units, and other test team members. Responsible for the creation and execution of detailed test plans/test matricies/test scripts, and the recording /tracking of defects associated to design and development for various types of projects, while working within a Structured Development Life Cycle (SDLC) or Scrum Methodology.Job Description
Responsible for assigned testing activities with minimal supervision including participation in identifying test scenarios and test conditions to be included in a detailed test plan/test matrix, creation/execution of automated testing scripts, manual execution of test conditions, determination of expected results and script outcomes, in-depth review of output and root cause analysis for discrepancies found in test case results.
Ensure tests that are developed are repeatable, as well as traceable to the requirements
Document and track defects as they are found till closure.
Accountable for on-time completion of assigned tasks for all levels of testing, which may include acceptance, integration and regression.
Organize testing documents, testing results, and testing certifications in conjunction with the framework of a System Development Life Cycle/Scrum Methodology.
Ensures professional communication (verbal and written) at all times whether it’s related to participation in project meetings, problem reporting, or resolving issues in conjunction with the business units and developers.
Applies continuous effort to acquire knowledge of various applications to gain proficiency. Ability to quickly learn and assimilate new information.
Presents clear and comprehensive status reports for one or more projects according to department standards.
Assist in the development of test systems and testing tools, which are compatible with company hardware /software requirements to facilitate testing, and to expedite the overall testing process.
Assist in conducting necessary reviews and walkthroughs. Interpreting business processes/rules working with the business area(s) to translate them into test cases (scenarios) in order to build a detailed test plan/test matrix/test script.
Work with project leaders/managers to identify risk(s) related to requirements that may directly affect the completion of testing and or project deliverables.
Assist in the development of a structured test methodology and/or testing approach for a given project/issue.
Assist in determining the amount of testing effort necessary to complete a given project/issue.
Assist in the development of a risk assessments and determine to what level of detail is necessary to adequately validate a project/modification/enhancement clearly meets its predetermined requirement(s)
Review test input/output and makes recommendations on test environments and testbed configurations that are required during the test execution phase, and remove any obstacles that may be presented
Continuously look for and suggest process improvements to ensure a quality product is tested and produced
Practice and enforce quality assurance processes as they apply to the testing functions
Assist in performing the maintenance of existing test systems within the time allocated, manage their usage and provide first line problem support to provide a complete and reliable test environment
Bachelors degree in business related field or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 2 years experience in testing within an IT, Financial, or Operations Division. Master’s degree in business related field is acceptable in lieu of work experience.
Experience in application administration, system testing, automated testing tools or software development (or related discipline).
Demonstrated high level analytical skills and proficiency on multiple applications relevant to our business environments.
Knowledge of Life and Health Insurance.
Experience in the use of structured testing techniques/methodologies and processes.
Ability to analyze testing processes, policies, and procedures.
Experience with Microsoft Access (VB Script preferred) and TSO preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Effective organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to balance multiple projects within tight timelines.
Strong problem solving and decision making skills.
Normal office environment. Limited travel
Job and compensation levels depend upon an applicant’s qualifications including the extent of his/her relevant experience and other job related factors and will be determined by hiring supervisors/managers and HR.
