Promotes a professional and comfortable atmosphere for all customers by providing assistance to Maintenance Mechanic II for all physical plant and facility assets as directed.


  • Protects the asset value of facility and plant equipment

  • Assists in controlling and maintaining the materials inventory, Records and logs

  • Protects the asset value of facility and equipment by performing preventive maintenance and repairs to physical structures and equipment on the campus including ceilings, light bulbs, walls, doors, windows, floors, beds and miscellaneous non-patient care equipment;

  • Protects the asset value of all equipment by assisting with preventive maintenance for ice machines, HVAC equipment, exhaust fans, Batteries, and testing of equipment .

  • Plumbing; pumps, water softeners, and water treatment;

  • Assist with Controls; analog, digital, pneumatic and electrical;

  • Assists the Plant Operator in the operation of fixed plant equipment by performing daily building and equipment checks and recording status of equipment including: chillers, boilers, air handlers, pumps and water treatment equipment;

  • Protects the asset value of all facility systems by performing preventive maintenance to all fire systems and alarm systems;

  • Assists in controlling and maintaining the materials inventory by informing Manager of material usage, low inventory levels, and following established stocking procedures;

  • Contributes to department performance by initiating ideas for department improvements;

  • Help customers by responding to and referring service requests.

/ POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: / / / Education: Highschool diploma/GED or Technical / vocational training Licensure/certification/registration: N/A Experience: 1-2 years general trade experience in healthcare setting Special Skills & Qualifications: Ability to listen, interact and communicate verbally and in writing. Computer literate.

/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:/ The incumbent may be exposed to toxics/caustics/chemicals/detergents, extreme conditions, hot/cold (30F-115F), dust/fumes/helicopters, x-ray/electromagnetic energy, moving mechanical parts; potential of electrical shock, high-pitched noises, communicable diseases and blood borne pathogens. The incumbent will spend approximately 75% of their time indoors. / / /PHYSICAL DEMANDS:/ MEDIUM WORK: Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. This position also requires that the incumbent, on some occasions, must be able to lift and/or carry items up to 25 pounds, push or pull items having a maximum weight of 50 pounds and be able to stoop, bend or kneel as necessary. During normal execution of the responsibilities of this job, the incumbent will sit approximately 10% of the time, stand 60% of the time and walk 30% of the time. This position will also require repetitive arm/hand movements and the incumbent must have visual acuity for near objects.
