Texas Health Plano is seeking a Radiology Manager in the IHC Imaging Department
Full Time: 40 hours per week
Monday-Friday Day shift
Minimum Education Requirements:
Associates Degree; graduate of an AMA-approved radiology program.
Bachelor Degree in Management preferred
Minimum Licensure/ Certification Requirements:
CMRT (TDH), ARRT (R), CPR
Minimum Experience Requirements:
5 years supervisory and management experience in health care.
Minimum Skill Requirements:
Computer skills to include keyboarding skills, computer applications. Experience in Windows 2000 and XP. Excellent communication and documentation skills required. Experience in healthcare setting and radiology systems preferred.
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews daily and weekly employee schedules in advance for staffing needs. Assists with payroll and ordering of supplies. Ensures smooth operation of daily activities in each modality. Monitors agency staff and request need. Communicates with agency any problems.
Orients new hires to department. Basic knowledge of functions of each modality, ability to perform diagnostic imaging. Interpretation skills to determine quality control assessment. Demonstrates ability to send images, record patient information and retrieve information.
Communicates to director any department problems. Assists director with performance evaluations. Assists with interviewing and hiring new employees.
Participation in development of policies and procedures. Ensures staff is informed and have access to P&Ps. Monitoring and reporting information for daily workloads. Patient/physician liaison. Works with complaint process. Markets referrals to imaging center. Serve on committees as requested by director. Maintains QA/QC records for department. Responsible for department in absence of director. Responsible for employee coaching and/or counseling in absence of the director or if requested by director. Participates in performance improvement projects and reports to director and staff.
Assists RIS/PACS manager as requested during downtime procedures. Basic knowledge of office operations to assist staff in absence of operations manager. Ensures smooth operations of department. Reports problem areas to director. Demonstrates cost effective awareness; uses downtime wisely. Multi-tasks and actively maintains schedule and provides after-hours call coverage. Identifies self and department promptly when answering phone. Conflict management with patients/employees.
Adheres to hospital standards for infection control for patient, equipment and self. Utilizes proper hand-washing techniques. Maintains log of equipment repairs. Troubleshoots and properly documents equipment malfunction. Reports problems to director. Tracking and monitoring of schedules, patient volume/shift. Daily operational reports indicated by director.
Identifies and offers suggestions for improvement to work flow and processes. Follows quality control guidelines; adheres to workplace standards. Utilizes available resources to further education and gain information. Leads department meetings in absence of director. Conducts modality staff meetings quarterly. Works in partnership with patients, families, co-workers and physicians to enhance the patient family journey for a desired outcome. Understands the value of teamwork and team-building and applies these principles. Insures that patient confidentiality and safety are maintained.
