DentalOne Partners Senior Network Engineer in Plano, Texas

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for identifying requirements, design, installation, configuration and integration of hardware, storage, operating system, and connectivity solutions. Additional responsibilities include security and service delivery of infrastructure, data and voice networks. Leads infrastructure implementation projects and is a subject matter expert for developing the organization's IT architecture and security strategies. Collaborate with the IT Operations Service Desk team to provide day-to-day engineering support for incident escalation and problem identification / resolution.

The Senior Network Engineer develops comprehensive high level infrastructure solutions that incorporate strategic target state architecture and standards to maximize performance, capacity, and TCO designs and is responsible for reliability, functionality, and security. Leads continuous improvement efforts to enhance infrastructure performance, security, and to optimize core infrastructure resources.

  • Perform capacity and resource planning, assess risks, and recommend, design, and implement networked systems

  • Configure and deploy platforms for new installations, lifecycle refreshes, and upgrades.

  • Create run books, technical diagrams, and other artifacts as needed to document infrastructure configurations.

  • Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure problems.

  • Ensure platforms are protected from unauthorized external and internal access.

  • Contribute to the preparation, review, and periodic update of IT standards, architectures, technical documentation, and security policies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Enterprise network architecture, implementation and support

  • Expert knowledge of Cisco IOS, Microsoft Servers and Clients, VMWare VSphere.

  • Storage platform architecture expertise with Compellent, EqualLogic or other iSCSI NAS / SAN

  • Service monitoring, management, and automation expertise using SolarWinds Orion, Wireshark, NetScout, or similar products.

  • Proficient in secure user authentication and authorization including Active Directory, single sign on, public key infrastructure (PKI), and multi-factor access controls.

  • Hands on Data Center and cloud computing transition experience

  • Working knowledge of High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Data Management, Capacity Management, and Application Service Resiliency

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience running small to medium-sized projects, interacting with varying levels from vendors to upper management.


Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant technical field with 3+ years of experience or 5+ years of experience with infrastructure design, implementation and support in a medium to large distributed network.

Certification / License

  • CCIE preferred

  • MCSE Server Infrastructure Certification a plus
