Accountemps is looking for a Staff Accountant for a possible temporary to hire role. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, you will support the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in SOX compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the 10Q and 10K reporting processes. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Your responsibilities - Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation - Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation - Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll - Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management - Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner - Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules - Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision - Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested - Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP - Be a part of various department-wide initiatives * For immediate consideration please send your resume and synopsis of why you feel you are best suited for this role to firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com
- Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
- Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
- Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
- Account reconciliation experience
- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics preferred
- Dependability in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills in particular
- Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
- NetSuite, SAP, Blackline, and ADP skills
- At least 2 years of Accounting experience
- Ability to meet deadlines
- CPA certification a plus
- Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
