This position is responsible for planning and developing radiation biophysics capabilities with a state-of-research facility for data collection and data analyses. Primary duties include, but are not limited to, acquiring required equipment for analyzing radiation biology data; managing all laboratory safety protocols and general compliance requirements; developing protocols and maintains compliance requirements per University guidelines; assisting in designing and in planning radiation biophysics equipment; participating and supporting research investigations at external radiation facilities; supporting and analyzing data for scientific research publications; training and supervising students or other visiting members of the research team; assisting in preparing research progress reports with the research director.
Bachelor’s Degree in a science related field.
Ten or more years of training and experience in experimental protocol and quality assurance compliance support (academia or industry).
B. S. degree from an accredited institution in Biophysics, Molecular biology, or Microbiology
Preferred Experience Requirements:
10+ years of training and experience in medical or biological experimental protocols and quality assurance compliance support – academia or industry • 5 + years of conducting radiation biology experiments at a national laboratory • Research expertise with proton and heavy ion facilities and medical research centers • 5+ years of experience in managing a radiation biology facility • 5+ years of experience as a team member of a larger group of scientist and or a research team
Preferred Licenses/Certifications :
current clearance and certifications to work at a national laboratory (BNL and or LANL)
