Texas Capital Bank Senior Model Risk Analyst in Richardson Operations Center, Texas

The Senior Model Risk Analyst will analyze risks associated with the use of models throughout the bank in compliance with regulatory guidance and internal policy. This individual will perform reviews and lead efforts to ensure the existence of appropriate documentation, effective process and adequate reporting. Routinely interact with senior management and their staff across all areas of the bank to identify issues and develop effective recommendations.

  • Determine adherence to bank policy and established standards throughout the modeling process across all Lines of Business

  • Review and assess risks associated with development, testing, use and implementation of models used in decision making

  • Coordinate with team members and management on risk program activities and status

  • Execute multiple risk program activities simultaneously against established timeframes

  • Engage in interaction with model owners, model developers and bank regulators

  • Develop and lead education and training on risk program and requirements

  • Ensure appropriate documentation exists to support risk assessments and testing

  • Prepare and present activity, status and issue reporting to committees and management


  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics/Applied Mathematics, Finance, Economics or similar

  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player

  • Capable of communicating effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Work independently and coordinate with the work of others

  • Well organized and detail oriented to handle diverse and concurrent assignments

  • Strong Microsoft application knowledge (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook) and aptitude for grasping and using various bank software applications

  • Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiar with applicable regulatory guidance (e.g. OCC 2011-12, Dodd-Frank, et al)

  • Experience in Bank Regulatory (OCC, Federal Reserve, FDIC), Public Accounting/Consulting, and/or Internal Audit experience in the Banking/Financial Services industry

  • Knowledgeable in risk management processes, change management, oversight and governance, consulting, banking or similar in the financial services industry
