Verizon Principal Consultant - Professional Services in Richardson, Texas


As part of the Professional Services Cisco Solutions team, you’ll own and support global Unified Communications and Collaboration as a Service (UCCaaS) design, implementation and troubleshooting of all Cisco Unified Communications (UC) applications (both in Verizon cloud and customer premise) as well as the integration of Cisco UC applications to other Verizon products/applications and/or customer developed third party applications.

  • Ensure that Cisco UCCaaS global solutions are delivered on-time, within budget and according to project plan and scoped deliverables.

  • Work with peers within Professional Services organization to identify opportunities that span peer groups and other organizations to further drive revenue and utilization for the UCCaaS product and the Professional Services Organization.

  • Work nights and weekends, as required, to implement and/or troubleshoot global UCCaaS solutions. This work is typically scheduled but can also be ad-hoc based on customer needs and needs of the business.

  • Work in escalated conditions and deliver solutions and/or resolve issues rapidly, sometimes being directed by manager to take on or support tasks that could fall to other teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Work with other Verizon organizations, customers and Cisco to determine product direction/road map, contribute to technical discussions and troubleshoot/resolve issues.

  • Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences and various management levels within: Professional Services organization, other Verizon organizations, Cisco and our customers.

  • Effectively work in team-environment providing support and leadership in your area of expertise while receiving support and working under the direction of others that may have areas of expertise you do not.

  • Ability to remain utilized and communicate when additional project work is needed to fulfill position utilization requirements.


Must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or related work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant experience.

  • Cisco CCIE Collaboration certification.

Five or more years of experience in all of the following areas:

  • Cisco Unified Communication applications (CUCM, CUC, CUAC, IM&P, Expressway, CUBE, TelePresence and WebEx).

  • Complex International Dial Plan Design and Configuration.

  • Expressway Design and Configuration.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Knowledge of and/or exposure to the following areas:

  • Layer 3 Routing (Public internet and MPLS)

  • VOIP network provisionsing

  • SIP Call flows and IP LAN technologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with internal Verizon Professional Services Project Managers.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with various levels of management internally and within customer organizations.

  • Demonstrated ability to work off-hours as required when working on projects with international locations.

  • Proven ability to work with Cisco TAC, Business Unit and Channel Partners to address issues.

  • High-energy, self-starter willing to work extra hours at times to meet delivery objectives and resolve issues.
