Raytheon Principal Systems Engineer in Richardson, Texas

The Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services SEIT (Systems Engineering and Integration Team) located in Richardson, Texas is the central focus for concept development, trade studies, systems architecture development, and systems integration and test activities for customized engineering services and products developed in the Richardson engineering facility. We develop solutions to solve customer needs as well as plan future capabilities and technology roadmaps. This role can be a E05, or E06 depending on the experience and education. Job Description: The SEIT Systems Engineer will be assigned to programs primarily within the Global Intelligence Solutions (GIS) product line to fill the role of Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead for a portion of a new program to create, deploy and support the IPTs Products in the customer’s Future Ground Architecture. The IPT lead will be responsible for the cost, schedule and technical activities necessary to design, build, deploy, and support the Products in multiple environments for many users. This role will plan, guide, status and report on activities in systems engineering, software engineering, hardware and infrastructure engineering, and IV&T. The selected candidate will have roles in the following areas and may include responsibilities not limited to: • Create plans for the construction of the Products components and sub-components, and supporting documentation • Create and status schedule activities for the Products • Plan staff and budget resources in support of achieving the Products schedule and other obligations • Work with multi-discipline teams in the creation of technical work products • Lead IPT evaluation of change requests from customers, and provide impact and cost of the proposed changes • Create and brief status and plans for the IPT at Raytheon and customer meetings Required Skills: · Experience leading a team of cross-functional engineers on a large ($50M+) mission critical software development project · Demonstrated judgement in managing competing internal and external priorities to meet project objectives · Knowledge and experience in the design, implementation, testing, deployment and support of cloud-based systems with real time (or near real time) components · Knowledge and experience in the establishment of a DevOps pipeline to include build, continuous integration, and deployment · Knowledge and experience with Semantic Versioning, and the concurrent support of multiple active versions of services in multiple environments · Knowledge in methods for requirements and architecture creation and decomposition, allocation of requirements, architecting for performance, system design patterns, message interface and API management • Knowledge and experience in multiple development lifecycle models and program lifecycle models that are applicable for creation of services, frameworks, and platforms. · Experience in identifying risks and establishing effective mitigation plans, or viable contingency plans · Experience in identifying opportunities and establishing effective realization plans • Experience in creating initial execution budget plans and supporting schedules, and BCRs for the effective startup of an effort • Experience in developing fully integrated cost and schedule IMS baseline for large development program • Experience in proactive program schedule forecasting and maintenance • Experience in metrics based forecasting and management • Experience with customer Joint Surveillance Reviews and Initial Baseline Reviews • Raytheon EVMS Level 2 certification • Experience with full EVMS customer reporting to include formats 1, 3, and 5 • Experience in preparing and defending a metrics based EAC (desktop and comprehensive) • Proven written and oral communication skills • Experience in developing presentations and delivering them at formal customer reviews to include business reviews, requirements reviews and design reviews • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of tools, particularly Excel, Project, PowerPoint and Word. • 8 + years’ experience in GEOINT related product line in an engineering or an engineering support role • Must be able to interface with design engineers, developers, program and company leadership, customers, and end users • Must be willing to perform business travel up to 5 days per month • Must be willing to work overtime to meet key deadlines, and lead team to do the same • Must hold and maintain a current TS/SCI Clearance Desired Skills: • Experience in the GEOINT, Cyber, and/or Computer Network Defense domains. • Software, System Engineering or architecture experience on a large, government funded development effort. • Developing DoDAF architecture or UML software architecture artifacts · Experience with Raytheon Enterprise Architecture Process (REAP) • Experience in Principles of Systems Engineering (PoSE) • Experience in Use case, CONOPS, and thread development · Experience with IBM Rational Software Architect and Microsoft Visio · Experience with FPGA development Required Education (including Major): 8 Years, with a B.S./B.A. in Engineering Science, Computer Science, or Mathematics, o r 6 years with MS/MA in Engineering Science, Computer Science, or Mathematics, o r 4 years with PhD in Engineering Science, Computer Science, or Mathematics. 87771
