Working remotely will be considered
Is responsible to manage a major functional division within the Appraisal department.
Develops and or works with the Claims Practices team to develop material damage processes and workflows that meet the needs of the company, department, and branches.
Monitors national, regional and local performance against established material damage metrics standards.
Manages appraisal units nationally.
Works closely with material damage vendors in their discipline.
Authorizes repair estimates or total loss valuations above associate and managers authority.
Works with National CAT Manager prior to and during catastrophic claims events for determining and allocating appropriate appraisal resources.
Works collaboratively with Branch and Rapid Response management to ensure there is appropriate Field Appraiser coverage in those markets where appropriate.
Act as a partner with Branch and Rapid Response management to ensure our associates and customers needs are being met.
Ensures adherence to all department of insurance regulations, setting process and procedure.
Manages assigned department budget and spending at or below plan.
Participates in the establishment of department goals and for implementing procedures and performance standards to achieve these goals; manages, coordinates, monitors and evaluates the activities of department staff directly or through subordinate managers.
Responsible for the employment, promotion, associate performance evaluation, training, motivation, counseling, and discipline of assigned associates.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and leadership skills, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently.
Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with both internal and external customers.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a collaborative team oriented environment using sound judgment in decision-making.
Excellent communication skills both oral and written with strong analytical skills.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and claims related software programs including automated estimate programs required.
Demonstrated technical knowledge in material damage handling.
Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a large team remotely.
Ability to set up and monitor Independent Adjusters and Direct Repair Facility networks.
Experience / Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and/or equivalent education required.
10 years of material damage and/or claims handling experience with five or more years of management experience.
Prior experience in managing other managers.
Prior body shop and experience in managing field appraisers required.
