Verizon VoIP Test Engineer in Richardson, Texas
As part of the Voice Infrastructure team, you will test VoIP infrastructure components, designs and software for Verizon’s Enterprise and Consumer (FIOS) voice networks. You will use test requirements and design documents to create test plans, execute those test plans and document those test results. The team writes detailed MOPs (Method of Procedures) for very complex upgrades. We see these projects through FOA (First Office Application) and hand off to a Tier II support organization.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, related discipline or equivalent work experience.
Experience with SDN/NFV technologies.
Experience with Session Border controller platforms and functions in a network.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
Strong background in data networking with a focus on network security and routing/switching protocols.
Knowledge of Linux, open source virtualization and Internet security.
Strong working knowledge of VoIP Networks to include: SIP, RTP and DNS.
Familiarity with analyzing packet captures for compliancy to SIP standards.
Strong technical, self-motivational, and organizational skills with an emphasis on detail and management reporting.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings and effectively lead discussions to articulate ideas and thoughts clearly with all levels of the organization up to and including executive management.
Proven ability to create, define and manage processes.
