Clinical Pathology Laboratories, Inc. A/R Posting Specialist - Team Leader in Round Rock, Texas
Responsible for the posting of payments/denials from insurance companies, patients or any third-party payers, to customer accounts by the department. Often direct patient care and contact, via telephone, written correspondence or personal visit; must be able to communicate well with the ability to explain account history in detail. Assists in hiring of new employees and follow up evaluation process. Offers help in determining area goals and departmental goals as a whole. Adheres to departmental policies and procedures to include departmental programs, quality control, quality assurance and safety.
Oversees daily operation of area, including employee attendance.
Track weekly/monthly productivity for area employees, compiles bonus information.
Performs quality review of staff to ensure accuracy on a daily basis.
Assists callers (patient or insurance companies) with account questions, resolving issues, or reviewing accounts for possible posting error.
Offer input into hiring of new employees, giving evaluation to current employees.
Assists with employee counseling/termination.
Correctly reviews and reads an Explanation of Benefits, inputting payment/denial according to departmental process.
Relates inconsistencies in payer issues to Supervisor/Director for follow up.
Work Credit Balance Reports.
Track Capitation Payments, reporting to department manager and CFO.
All other duties assigned by supervisor.
Education: High School diploma or GED.
Experience: Must have one year of accounts receivable experience dealing directly with accounting procedures, cash reconciliation and general accounting principals. An additional one-year of experience in the insurance/medical field, and/or accounts receivable is preferred.
Skills: Must have knowledge of insurance contracts, reimbursement guidelines and general accounting skills. Ten key by touch with ability to read and write English is also required.
