POSITION SUMMARY The Critical Care Clinical Education Specialist collaborates with facility leadership, internal and external sources, staff, and the CNO to enhance clinical practice, promote exceptional care standards and support recruitment and retention within St. David's Round Rock Medical Center. The position participates in the on-boarding process, development and education of clinical staff, consultations with units or business lines, development of training modules, simulation and/or curriculum, and role modeling service excellence behaviors to improve the patient experience and deliver excellent quality education. Goals and priorities are established in accordance with organizational objectives and strategies. The Critical Care Clinical Education Specialist is a facility resource and incorporates the roles of educator, consultant, role model and advocate in service excellence. The Critical Care Clinical Education Specialist is responsible for education in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) and Telemetry (TELE) and reports directly to the Director of Nursing Operations.

Ensures cost effective use of materials and resources.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN)
· Wide variety of people skills including a service orientation as demonstrated through examples of written and oral communication.
· Demonstrated experience in areas of planning and organization.
· Basic proficiency in computer applications.
· Must possess excellent communication, problem solving and leadership skills
· Must be able to work autonomously and collaboratively
Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or related healthcare field
Three years of clinical experience in critical care in an acute care setting; including cardiovascular critical care, neurosurgical critical care, trauma critical care. Experience with formalized course development and instruction.
