Southwest Research Institute ANALYST - ENGINEER - RESEARCH ANALYST - COOPERATIVE SYSTEMS in San Antonio, Texas
Serve as a software developer and researcher developing new technology areas for the department. Develop hardware and software solutions for the Cooperative Systems Section including: architecture design, software component development, unit testing, and integration testing for connected vehicle applications (using vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication); develop algorithms for individual and multi-vehicle behaviors for systems of unmanned ground and aerial vehicles; perform in all phases of the development lifecycle, including requirements definition, software/systems design, implementation, testing, and integration; initiate advanced research and development programs, interact with clients, and make technical presentations. Requires a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with at least a 3.5 GPA and 0 – 5 years of experience. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well individually or as a member of a project team is required; excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong software development skills is required; familiarity or experience with connected vehicle technology (V2X), Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), and/or multi-agent systems is preferred; C/C++ experience preferred, other object-oriented programming experience will be considered. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
