DEPARTMENT: Donor Recruitment
JOB TITLE: Donor Recruitment Consultant
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
FULLTIME: Monday-Friday May be Required to Work Evenings/Weekends based on Territory Needs.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Responsible to achieve established blood collection goals by recruiting community businesses, religious institutions, organizations, and groups to sponsor blood drives. Will educate and inform their members about the functions and needs of the community Blood Donor Program. Conduct all aspects of donor recruitment within assigned areas, including public education, blood drive administration and minority outreach programs.
Education: Two years college or sales related work experience required
Experience: Background in media, public speaking or sales preferred
Computer experience preferred
Must be at least 21 years old with good driving record
Three years driving experience required
Certification/License: Texas Operators Driver's License
Achieve established blood collection goals.
Identify, develop and implement creative strategies to attract potential sponsors.
Prospect new organizations and groups to sponsor blood drives.
Provide educational events to the community regarding the functions and needs of the Blood Donor program and encourage blood drive sponsorship.
Coordinate community blood drives, and provide organizational and operational support to the sponsoring organization and the assigned Chairperson.
Arrange all aspects of recruitment drives including scheduling, obtaining volunteers, educational events, and media coverage, when appropriate.
Maintain accurate and updated records, tracking, and statistical data by completing drive results as required and providing appropriate correspondence.
Assist with public relations requests to meet departmental, newspaper, radio and television deadlines.
Arrange for and assist in the preparation of material for special events, media or visitors.
Coordinate and work booths at fairs and special events, etc.
Maintain a close working relationship with recruitment staff.
Assist coworkers with completion of assigned job tasks as necessary.
May perform other tasks as assigned.
Assist with media coordination as required.
Assist in the organization and conduction of promotional blood drives.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Will sit, stand, walk, bend, and drive during working hours. Requires to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Must be able to drive on behalf of the organization.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in well lighted, air-conditioned and heated vehicle or office environments, but may work in confined spaces and non-climate controlled conditions. May be exposed to electrical and chemical hazards and other conditions common to an office environment. May be required to work at any time of the day, evening or night during the week or weekend to include being on-call. Occasional out of town and overnight stays required. Ability to use personal motor vehicle for company business required.
