Regulatory Compliance Risk Management (RCRM), Wells Fargo’s regulatory compliance second line of defense function, provides company-wide leadership, standards, support, and independent oversight to ensure that all business groups abide by applicable laws, rules, regulations and regulatory guidance (regulatory requirements), meet regulatory compliance responsibilities, and manage regulatory compliance risks. RCRM credibly challenges management decisions, business processes and activities, and evaluates and assesses adherence to applicable regulatory requirements. It provides appropriate analysis, reporting, and escalation to senior management and the Board of Directors, sets minimum standards for the company, and gives advice, guidance, and support for regulatory compliance risk management activities across the enterprise.

The RCRM Operations Team has responsibility for implementing and managing an end-to-end RCRM risk assessment process, developing an RCRM process framework to support cross-functional initiatives, building the RCRM data and analytics platform to connect RCRM data across applicable data sources and develop metrics, building an enhanced RCRM supporting tools suite to meet RCRM requirements for reporting, providing project management support for RCRM framework enhancements as well as supporting enterprise-wide regulatory change initiatives.

The RCRM Process Management lead organizes and manages business and enterprise-wide strategic process redesign projects to support regulatory compliance risk-directed initiatives. These initiatives may include implementation of new or revised enterprise policies, cross-LOB regulatory change management requirements, or RCRM-focused new process enhancements. This role will perform or oversee complex analysis and apply analysis results to initiatives that support recommendations for optimal approaches including proposed technology, staff, and structure changes and cost estimates. This position will provide consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques to improve process performance and will provide coaching as needed. This role will be instrumental in developing and implementing a center of excellence for process management within RCRM and driving awareness of quality/process methodologies. This role will work in an extremely complex, fast-paced, matrixed environment with tight deliverable timeframes and multiple stakeholders, both internal and external to RCRM.

  • Specific duties for this position include, but are not limited to:*

  • Develop and implement a center of excellence for process management within RCRM

  • Develop RCRM process design standards and ensure alignment with enterprise process management standards and tools

  • Provide process design and mapping capabilities to ensure end-to-end regulatory risk management requirements and impacts to processes are understood

  • Partner with RCRM leaders and project management teams across the LOBs and risk partners to ensure process design requirements are evaluated and captured as part of implementation plans

  • Create and direct resources to develop process maps and supporting process documentation, and leverage enterprise process management tools as required to meet initiative deliverables

The successful candidate will be an execution–focused, senior-level process consultant with expert-level technical and critical-thinking skills and the ability to partner with and lead others. The candidate will need to build strong relationships with business, compliance, risk management, and audit partners to be effectively positioned to understand, communicate, and help develop and drive process improvements for enterprise-wide, strategic redesign projects. This position needs to influence outcomes, minimize and address conflict, and demonstrate in-depth understanding of compliance and operational risk as it relates to process improvements. The candidate will be expected to act independently and demonstrate strong initiative. The role requires a sense of urgency, passion for results, and personal accountability for achievement.

Required Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of process improvement experience or 9+ years of business process engineering experience
