University of Texas Health Science Center Clinical Trials Specialist in San Antonio, Texas
Bachelor’s degree in related field and two years of directly related experience in clinical trials research.
This position is responsible for performing specialized and technical reviews of clinical trial research protocols, funding agreements and billing processes. This position will also administer, organize and conduct training and educational programs in connection with clinical trials operations, systems and management as needed.
Experience in multi-disciplinary clinics and research settings with Principal Investigators, Research Nurses/Coordinators, and other research team members. Experience using a Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS). Training/education in project management.
Assist in the review and analyzation of clinical trial research protocols, funding agreements and billing processes. Provides interpretation to CTO staff and PI/research teams on clinical trial billing decisions pertaining to standard of care, routine care, and research-directed care, specific to Medicare and Medicaid rules.

Coordinates and develops specialized training on clinical trial operations in collaboration with other content experts specific to: CTMS (Velos eResearch) users, research billing processes, participant payments, regulations and other clinical trial operations. Maintains updated training modules provided in Knowledge Center, training setting may involve classroom, individual, virtual or online. Maintains records on training progress and completion rates and training effectiveness, providing reports as directed.

Assists with; identifying problems, communicating changes and updates with direction on CTMS (Velos eReseach) functionality, research billing processes, participant payments, regulations and other clinical trial operations.

Assist in development and management of ongoing monitoring plans for evaluating research billing processes and regulations.
