University of Texas Health Science Center Computerized Tomography Technologist in San Antonio, Texas
Requires a graduate of an accredited 2 year program in Radiologic Technology with a minimum of (3) three years’ CT experience. Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) by the Radiological Technology of Registered Technologists or registry eligible for CT license, as well as currently licensed in Medical Radiological Technology by the Texas State Department of Health or the Texas Medical Board.
This position will support present CT Imaging staff by providing licensed and experienced skills to expand Imaging services to patients and providers for extended hours coverage. This technologist will operate computerized tomography scanners to obtain cross sectional images of internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.
Bachelor’s degree and graduate of AMA accredited program in Radiologic Technology with three years’ CT imaging experience. Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) in Radiologic Technology. Registered or Registry eligible for CT license and Licensed in Medical Radiological Technology by the Texas State of Department of Health or the Texas Medical Board. Advanced Registry in Computerized Technology, experience with Toshiba CT scanners and strong IV skills preferred.
Must be able to operate computerized scanners to obtain cross sectional images of patients’ internal organs and tissues for use by physicians in the diagnosis of medical issues. Performs quality assurance on CT scanning equipment as per ACR QA requirements.
Percentage Of Time 70
Must be able to accurately interpret a physician’s scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT equipment, to include patient positioning to acquire the appropriate images. Must also be knowledgeable in the operation of the power injector and contrast administration/usage, as well as all peripheral hardware to include the console, monitoring equipment and any and all devices used in CT.

Responsible for the proper use of the RIS and PACS (scheduling exams, patient tracking, exam tracking and proper completion of exams). Responsible for the safety screenings of all patients. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to assess a situation, consider alternatives and choose an appropriate course of action. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
