University of Texas Health Science Center Educational Development Specialist in San Antonio, Texas

Job Description

As a member of the Office for Faculty Affairs and Diversity within the School of Nursing, this position will collaborate with faculty/content experts to establish engaging learning activities and compelling course and program content delivery that enhance knowledge retention and transfer. This position will provide ongoing consultation and support services to faculty in the areas of curriculum delivery management, instructional methodologies aligned with learner goals and context, as well as, learner and strategy assessment support. Additionally the individual will support faculty competency development while creating materials and media as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree with emphasis in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, and/or Distance Education Technologies preferred. PhD preferred.

Experience in applying instructional design methods at a program level preferred

Experience in accreditation requirements in health science education, curriculum development and implementation desirable.

Collaborate with faculty in the design, development and evaluation of online and blended learning instructional methods and materials.

Provide for infusion and evaluation of new instructional strategies and materials. Support faculty’s educational research efforts.

Plan and conduct seminars, workshops, courses, or in-services on various learning and learning technology-related topics for faculty and staff. Provides program specific faculty development to meet student learning outcomes through enhanced instructional methodology knowledge and skills
