Kforce Front End Engineer - Mid in San Antonio, Texas

Kforce has a client seeking a Mid-Level Front End Engineer in San Antonio, Texas (TX).Summary:Front-end Engineers create beautiful, consistent user experiences for their members and employees across a diverse range of digital products and delivery platforms. The candidates work closely with the client's back-end services and data teams, UI Design teams, and Business partners in a challenging, fast-paced, agile environment to deliver the web and mobile applications that support both their workforce and over 90% of member interactions. More importantly, it's a great challenge. Here, the candidate will invent, design and test. This person will take risks. The individual will create new technology, but the impact they will make on their members will be far more significant.The applicant will use their skills in all phases of front end development providing innovative solutions for both internal employees and external member-facing projects. They will work with experienced team members and work closely with business clients and UI designers to analyze user requirements, design and code applications, and customize commercial software packages.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), Design/Art, Multimedia related majors, or 4 years of work experience in IT

  • 2 years of software development experience or be able to prove proficiency in core JavaScript, JavaScript Frameworks such as React or Angular, CSS3, and HTML5

  • Advanced understanding of browser developer tools for Chrome, Firefox, or IE to troubleshoot/problem solve issues typically found in complex systems

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience design/development software solutions, such as Atom, Eclipse, Dreamweaver, Sublime, Photoshop, Illustrator, or Notepad

  • Experience in any of the following JavaScript frameworks: React, jQuery, Bootstrap, YUI, Backbone.js, AngularJS, Ember, Dojo, etc

  • Experience with one or more of the following server technologies: Java, Node, .NET, or PHP

  • Experience with code management tools such as RTC, JIRA, NPM or Git

  • Experience with Agile methodologies

  • Nice to have: test-driven, unit, or automated testing development experience

  • Able to manage work across teams (i.e. coordinating with server or database teams, dealing with business)

  • Exposure to A/B and client-side testing tools like: SiteSpect, Maxymiser, Selenium, PageSpeed, or Mocha

  • General understanding and experience with WCAG and 508 accessibility standards
