Humana is seeking a Group Medicare Proposal Consultant/Sales Business Consultant to oversee the research, design and creation of Group Medicare sales proposals from beginning to end; lead proposal projects, consult with other departments to refine business strategies, and ensure the quality of finished products. You will also provide technical expertise for proposal debrief projects.

  • Develop winning proposals for current and prospective clients that will drive Group Medicare sales growth

  • Asses the validity of bid opportunities by analyzing input from Sales and company data

  • Lead and oversee the proposal projects

  • Conduct proposal strategy discussions with the Sales and Underwriting departments and with subject matter experts to formulate proposal strategies based on determined customer needs

  • Create customized proposal responses that communicate Humana’s value proposition

  • Ensure that quality assurance efforts like review teams and compliance matrices are undertaken for each proposal

  • Ensure proposals are compliant with RFP requirements and submitted timely.

Role Essentials

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, English or a related field, or equivalent experience

  • Knowledge of proposal development and management

  • Medicare experience

  • Ability to deliver high quality products under tight deadlines

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint and proficiency in Excel

Role Desirables

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field

  • Knowledge of the Insurance Benefits industry or prior proposal team experience

  • Group Medicare Advantage experience

  • Experience working with PMAPS

  • APMP Certification

  • PMP or project management certification

Reporting Relationships

You will report to a Director within the Corporate Proposal Center. This area is under the leadership of the SVP & Chief Operating Officer.
