This position is responsible for conducting and documenting complex technical accounting projects including analyzing unique transaction for proper accounting, implementing accounting changes for new standards and purchase and sale accounting for M&A activity.Key Roles and Responsibilities:1.Provide technical accounting answers to proposed complex transactionsa.Areas of focus to include:i.Revenue recognitionii.Expense and capital determination and allocationiii.Asset securitizations and derivativesiv.Foreign currency transactionsb.Provide research on the accounting treatment including an evaluation of the impact of alternative transaction structuresc.Create & update accounting policies and guidance documents for new/different operations and transactions not covered by existing policies2.Implement new accounting standards issued by the FASBa.Determine impacts to current AT&T accounting processes & systemsb.Create & update accounting policy and guidance documents as neededc.Work with accounting operations to implement systems and process changes to comply with new rules3.Merger & acquisition activitiesa.Manage the process for determining values of purchased businesses including knowledge of valuation techniques and processb.Develop purchase accounting entriesc.Integrate accounting policies of purchased entities with AT&T policiesd.Determine gain/loss calculations and discontinued operation accounting for business to be sold


  1. 5-7 years working on technical accounting matters

  2. CPA required

Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Finance, or a technical related field

  • Five years experience in accounting, financial analysis, or financial reporting

  • Good communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal communications and project management/leadership skills

  • Excellent desktop skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Access)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Five or more years experience in Financial Analysis, modeling and forecasting

  • MBA in Finance
