General Statement of Duties:

Plan, budget, oversee, and document all aspects of specific BMT and Blood Cancer program projects. Work closely with program leadership to make sure the scope and direction of each project is on schedule, as well as other department for support. Working with program leadership, plan, implement, and support program databases.

Essential Job Functions: 1. Coordinate internal and external resources for timely execution of projects 2. Ensure projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget 3. Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility 4. Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track project progress 5. Report and escalate to program leadership as needed 6. Coordinate with program quality manager and hospital risk management to minimize project risks 7. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation 8. Working with program leadership and across program departments to plan, create, and implement program databases, as well as any vendor provided/implemented databases and software products utilized within the program. 9. Work with program quality manager and quality assurance staff to ensure program policies, protocol, pathways, education materials, and forms are systematically implemented and electronically stored/archived across all program departments 10. Assist in program accreditation planning and site survey preparedness

Minimum Education, Experience, Training, Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities and Other Job-Related Characteristics: 1. Education: Bachelor‘s degree in nursing. 2. Experience: Three years recent clinical experience blood and marrow transplant and/or blood cancer. Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software and web technologies. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. 3. Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable). 4. Preferred: Master’s degree in nursing. Working background in leading projects and/or process improvement to completion.. Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required: 1. Required: RN license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas; Green Belt Certificate in Six Sigma (if not, must agree to acquire within 2 years of employment) 2. Preferred: Certificate in Project Management or Six Sigma.
