Work Schedule: Monday – Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm

The Oil, Gas and Mineral Analyst for our Trust division will assist in the management of the departments mineral assists which include; all mineral assists in accordance with the governing document, application legal/regulatory requirements, bank policies/procedures, and in collaboration with internal term members and external service provides as appropriate.

The position will create forecasting models to illustrate variances and investigate discrepancies in production volume and pricing. As an Oil, Gas and Mineral Analyst you will support the Trust Department by:

  • Monitoring and controlling risk in all aspects of mineral asset administration
  • Import and analyze oil and gas data from the Texas Railroad Commission,, and Client royalty checks to create spreadsheets for royalty/working interest audits
  • Providing support during lease negotiations, research and manage working interest holdings, petroleum revenue stream audits, and research/assist with Estate title curative issues
  • Handling all aspects of trust account opening and/or closing/termination, in coordination with Trust Operations and Trust Investments
  • Identifying and coordinating the resolution of tax matters that arise during the course of mineral management including fiduciary tax, personal tax, and overall tax implications/issues of distributions

Work Experience

  • Some experience working in the oil and gas industry with knowledge of royalty analysis, audits, and accounting
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects work independently and follow through

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with and the Railroad Commission website

Supervisory Experience

  • None


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Four year degree from accredited university in Finance or Accounting; preferred
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills


  • Ability to work with office equipment such as telephone, PC, Keyboard, copiers, scanner, and fax
  • Excellent computer literacy in all Microsoft Programs (Outlook, IE 7 and 8 and other popular browsers, Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe Reader)

  • Ability to work independently to meet multiple trading deadlines, and take initiative to make effective decisions
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work with various levels of clients and managers
