Job Summary:

Manage and execute projects in the area of advanced engine research; develop new and innovative concepts to improve the performance, efficiency and/or emissions of current and future engines including advanced engine hardware or alternative combustion modes; manage or perform analysis on advanced engine concepts; engage in business development activities including marketing and proposal preparation for existing and new clients; develop new areas of advanced research or analysis; regularly present project summaries and promotional material to internal and external audiences; regularly publish project activity in professional organizations like SAE; mentor junior staff.

Education/Experience:

Requires a BS, MS or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with at least a 3.0 GPA. The candidate will have at least seven years of experience in the transportation industry and some advanced education - a PhD in mechanical engineering with an emphasis on thermo/fluids or combustion desired. The candidate must have experience with SI engine research and development, including knowledge of modern data acquisition techniques as well as combustion and emissions analysis. Knowledge of engine simulation software, such as GT Power, is desired. Demonstrated ability to innovate in the form of new concepts in hardware, combustion strategies or analysis techniques is preferred. The candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, with some evidence of technical writing in the form of scholarly papers or publications preferred. Project management experience is required. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
