TheUnified Communications Principal Architect develops, defines, promotes andoversees complex strategic solutions and architectures by combining businessand solutions expertise.They will steer the vision, technology and roadmap to deliverworld-class solutions that support our evolving business needs. The primaryfocus of the role will be on Unified Communications & Collaboration domains,while also working with integration through global data networks, wireless, andmobility. The position is responsible for developing and maintaining currentand future state architectures, roadmap and overseeing implementation ofend-to-end integrated systems, delivering architectural initiatives thatimprove efficiencies in line with business strategies.
●Leadthe technical design, implementation, and optimization of Pearson’s global voice,video, contact center, messaging and collaboration infrastructure/solutions
●Leadarchitectural and topology design, new technology evaluation and integrationplanning activities
●Contributeto and maintain strategic technology roadmaps
●Leadthe transition of new technologies and solutions into the operations phase suchthat operations staff have the proper documentation, mentoring, and overallreadiness to maintain optimal state after deployment.
●Ensurearchitecture and design provides reliability and redundancy for all services toinclude corporate voice, video, contact center and UC applications.
●LeadCall Center design as well as provide expert support for Pearson call centerenvironments.
●Providestechnical expertise to project teams working on the development,implementation, maintenance and improvement of Unified Communications andCollaboration solutions and design
●Providesinput into business cases, request for proposals, supplier selection andevaluation of proposals
●Conductsperformance analysis and documents solution components adhering to platformstandards
●Engagementwith application and platform build teams to ensure designs are provided basedon the business requirements
●Ownerand reviewer of both existing and proposed standards
●Engagementwith CISO team to ensure technical roadmap and standards are compliant withsecurity policies
●Identifiesbusiness requirements; evaluates concepts such as compelling event and problem identificationto ensure that solutions meet both short and long-term business performanceexpectations.
●Contributeto the development of work instructions, solution documentation, bestpractices, standards and guidelines.
●Participatein Incident, Change and Problem management.
●Provideexpert technical support on complex system and application performance issues.
●Beand stay current with UC technologies from existing and new vendors.
