Translation of complex customer requirements into soundly designed and implemented technical solutions; design and implementation of services and applications will include such technologies as AWS/C2S in order to provide data information solutions, processes and related automation to process, exploit, and analyze intelligence requirements; re-engineering and implementation/migration of existing or new mission critical applications into a functioning production Amazon Web Services (AWS) / Commercial Cloud Services (C2S) in use by the Intelligence Community (IC); in addition to development, job will involve documentation and deployment of enterprise scale applications into operational environments; analysis and assessment of third-party software for use in the development of application solutions; software development work includes all aspects of requirements analysis and applications development, including graphical user interfaces, hardware control, data management, documentation, peer reviews, unit testing in multi-tasking and multi-threaded environments; work at SwRI laboratories and short-term travel to government facilities / military bases or other customer facilities, both in the U.S. and overseas, for system installations and to provide technical support; prepare technical documents and support proposal preparations as required.
Requires a BS degree in Computer Science with a minimum of 2 years experience. Must have at least a 3.3 GPA. Must have a working knowledge of software development processes including analysis of software requirements, application design, coding, unit and integration testing, software/hardware integration and software documentation with an emphasis in cloud solution design, cloud delivery, and the integration of Web / enterprise applications in multitenant commercial cloud offerings, AWS and C2S architecture for the intelligence community, and deployment of enterprise scale applications; experience in software development in languages and scripting such as Java, Scala, Python, Perl, Ruby is required; knowledge of networking and database (SQLServer, Oracle, MySQL, PostGres) systems development required; excellent technically oriented verbal and written communications skills are required. Must be familiar with security concepts and best practices with expertise in areas such as IPsec, VPN, Load Balancing, Iperf, MTR, Routing Protocols, SSH, Network Monitoring / Troubleshooting tools; development in a Linux environment with working knowledge of Linux system monitoring and analysis is highly preferred; exposure to Virtualization (VMware, Xen, Hypervisor) is highly desired; prior working experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is highly desired;; senior candidates should have demonstrated capabilities in software development leadership. Current DoD security clearance is highly desired. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
