University of Texas Health Science Center Research Associate-Senior in San Antonio, Texas
Performs technical or narrative research. Designs, modifies and collaborates with primary investigator regarding protocol and methodology of research topics. Conducts library and topical research pertinent to projects. Conducts experiments and studies and assesses outcome; adapts continued studies based on the organization of findings. Writes and prepares final papers to support findings; submits evidence for publication. This position plans, conducts and directs a wide variety of experiments and is responsible for the evaluation and interpretation of the data obtained. Incumbent will also be responsible for the development of new or improved techniques and procedures. Responsibilities include collecting, evaluating, interpreting and documenting research data to accomplish the objectives of complex scientific experiments and research projects.
Maintain a tissue culture room designed for mouse embryonic stem cells. This also includes the generation of mitotically inactive mouse embryonic fibroblasts to use as a feeder layer for mouse embryonic stem cells.

General lab maintenance that includes construction of targeting vectors and expression vectors for mammalian cells.

Maintenance of mouse colonies that include genotyping. Perform analysis of toxic compounds on tissue culture cells. Ordering reagents and compliance.
