Job Summary:

Provide test cell and project engineering support to advanced engine research team; establish and maintain working relationships with clients and department staff to accomplish project objectives; apply technical knowledge in the development of innovative solutions to project problems; provide advance expertise to the expansion of laboratory capabilities through the application of knowledge and skills.

Education/Experience:

Requires a PhD in Mechanical Engineering with at least a 3.0 GPA. A background in automotive engineering, specifically with engine performance, emissions, efficiency or combustion science, is desirable; participation in SAE Student Competitions is desirable; computer aided engineering background with CAD or CFD or other numerical simulation tools is desirable; knowledge or experience with 1-D or 3-D simulation codes is desirable; experience with Data Acquisition and engine controls and experience working in an engine test cell environment is desirable; must have good writing and verbal skills; must have experience with PC-based presentation, spreadsheet, and word processing software. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
