Develop and conduct protocol-driven scientific research addressing various aspect of military medicine, including, but not limited to; the evaluation of existing data sets such as the Joint Theater Trauma Registry, the surveillance of dental disease non-battle and traumatic craniofacial injuries occurring in deployed military personnel, and the evaluation of risk factors for dental disease and craniofacial trauma occurring in military
Provide support to government scientist in writing protocol-driven research proposals, technical report, final reports, and peer reviewed
Provide support to government scientists with power analysis and sample size calculation
Evaluate data sets (provided by the government or collected by the contractor), develop presentation materials, and present findings at technical and professional
Exercise technical responsibility for the management of the automated human resources information system and applies data system skills and practical HR management
Provide management advisory services to customers requiring knowledge of each specialized human resources area.
Interprets system requirements and changes as they impact human resources administration policies and procedures.
Provides advice on the use of data for compiling personnel and statistical reports and preparing personnel action documents.
PhD in Environmental Health Sciences, Chemistry, Physiology, Neurophysiology, Neuroscience, Immunology, Microbiology, Occupational Epidemiology, Physiology, Toxicology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or related field. (Masters with 6+ years' experience will be considered).
Proficient in the use of statistical software packages (SAS or SPSS) and their application in the medical research environment.
Proficient in the knowledge and use of parametric and non-parametric statistical procedures and modelling procedures.
Proficient in conducting power analyses and calculating the number of samples required for biomaterial testing, as well as for animal and human use protocols.
8-10 years of related experience in scientific research, analysis and/or engineering.
